Why do I need Tejas Direct Primary Care if I am generally healthy?
Our traditional healthcare system in the United States is set up for “SICK-care” and not “HEALTH-care”—it reacts to disease when it is already manifesting and negatively impacting a person’s quality of life. At Tejas DPC, we emphasize ‘WELL-care’ by screening for and identifying conditions in their early stages. For example, when conditions like diabetes or hypertension are found in their early stages, they are more easily reversed. This proactive strategy helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, surprise hospitalizations or other scary complications. Just as a reliable car needs its 50,000 mile maintenance work, healthy adults should see their doctor at a “well visit” at least once annually to ensure appropriate attention is placed on any health issues that may be lurking in their early stages. Moreover, our team makes it convenient to access your doctor for when an unexpected injury or illness pops up. Tejas DPC provides value to all--those with chronic underlying health conditions and adults in overall good health alike.

- Annual Comprehensive Premier Exam (DEXA body composition, lab panel included for adults*)
- Your doctor’s cell number for direct access during business hours
- Preventative Care
- Telehealth Visits
- In-office Visits - extended time with your doctor (Up to 1 hour appointments) or quick, brief visits when you are on the go
- In-office tests including EKG, Urinalysis, Rapid Flu and Strep tests
- Management of chronic conditions and medications (excluding controlled substances)
- Acute Sick Visits for injuries or illnesses (excluding Emergency Care)
- Coordination of care with your hospital team and other specialists when needed
- Simple in office procedures

*One annual panel of routine labs and DEXA body composition are included in the Premier Physical when one year membership is paid in advance. However, all members will be able to purchase labs and DEXA body composition separately, at discounted, member-only rates.
